Event Details
Existential therapy offers a way of working that places the therapeutic encounter at the centre of practice. Instead of rushing toward solutions, it invites therapists and clients to explore questions of meaning, uncertainty, relationship, and personal responsibility as they arise within lived experience.
This two-hour webinar provides an accessible introduction to existential therapy, combining a brief exploration of key thinkers and core ideas with practical reflections on how these perspectives influence everyday clinical work. Participants will consider different forms of therapeutic dialogue, the role of curiosity and openness in session, and how therapists can work with clients without becoming overly directive or problem-focused.
Designed as a reflective and practice-oriented session, the webinar focuses on how existential principles can inform the therapist’s stance in the room, particularly when working with anxiety, uncertainty, advice-seeking clients, and patterns that once served a purpose but no longer do.
You’ll learn to…
-
Recognise key ideas and influences that shape existential therapy
-
Understand the difference between solution-driven and exploratory therapeutic dialogue
-
Apply existential perspectives to common clinical situations
-
Work constructively with uncertainty, anxiety, and clients’ search for certainty
Who is this for?
This webinar is open to counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists, healthcare professionals, educators, and trainees interested in expanding their therapeutic perspective. Practitioners from all modalities are welcome.
